AWS support plan is a subscription-based service offered by Amazon Web Services that provides customers with technical support, guidance, and resources to help them use AWS products and services effectively.

Types of AWS Support Plans

1. Basic Support(Free) -

  • Included with all AWS accounts.
  • Provides access to documentation, whitepapers, AWS re:Post community, and Trusted Advisor core checks.
  • Best for individuals or small teams experimenting with AWS.
2. Developer Support -

  • Low-cost entry plan
  • Suitable for developers testing or doing early development on AWS
  • Offers best practice guidance, building-block architecture support, and diagnostic tools.
3. Business Support - 

  • AWS Recommends if you have production workloads and includes all developers features plus 24*7 access like phone, email, and chat and architectural guidance in the context of specific use-case to AWS Cloud Support Engineers.
  •  Full Trusted Advisor checks and AWS Health Dashboard
  • Cheapest support plan.
4. Enterprise Support -

  • Provides customers with concierge-like service where the main focus is helping the customers achieve their outcomes.
  • Provides 24*7 technical support from high-quality engineers, tools, and technology to automatically manage the health of your environment.
  • Consultative architectural guidance delivered in the context of your applications and use-cases, and a designated Technical Account Manager(TAM) to coordinate access to proactive programs and AWS SME.
  • High level of support but expensive than Business support plan.

AWS Enterprise On-Ramp Support - 

  • Tailored for business-critical or production workload where rapid response and expert optimization are important.
  • 24*7 technical support from AWS engineers.
  • Faster response times compared to Business support.
  • Access to Technical Account Managers(TAMs) for consultative guidance.
  • Tools and technology to automatically manage the health of your environment.

Note: AWS has announced that Enterprise On Ramp will be discontinued on January 1, 2027.

1. Basic - 

  • Pricing Model - Free
  • Minimum Monthly Cost - $0

2. Developer - 

  • Pricing Model - 3% of Monthly AWS usage
  • Minimum Monthly Cost - $29

3. Business - 

  • Pricing Model - % of Monthly AWS usage (% of monthly AWS usage (10% for first $0–$10K, 7% for $10K–$80K, 5% for $80K–$250K, 3% above $250K))
  • Minimum Monthly Cost - $100

4. Enterprise On-Ramp - 

  • Pricing Model - Free (% of monthly AWS usage (similar tiered model as Business))
  • Minimum Monthly Cost - $5,500

5. Enterprise - 

  • Pricing Model - (% of monthly AWS usage (10% for first $0–$150K, 7% for $150K–$500K, 5% for $500K–$1M, 3% above $1M))
  • Minimum Monthly Cost - $15,000
